第45任美国总统川普星期五（1月20日）上午在美国首都华盛顿宣誓就职。他在就职演说中表示，要为“被遗忘的人民”而战，美国将赢得前所未有的胜利，夺回属于美国人的财富和就业机会，重新控制边境。他还宣布，美国从现在起由人民当家作主，权力回到了美国人民手中。

川普在最高法院首席法官小约翰．罗伯茨的监督下宣誓就职。就职典礼主持人由史蒂夫．雷担任，典礼中，摩门教会合唱团和古典跨界流行音乐歌手小贾姬也受邀表演。在大选中落败的喜莱莉．克林顿也和夫婿克林顿一起出席了川普的就职典礼。

川普在就职演说时表示，美国将遵循两项很简单的原则：买美国货，用美国人。和其他国家发展友好关系，但是把美国利益放在第一位。他指责前任政府忙着保卫其他国家的边界而不管本国边界，为别的国家花钱而任由美国的基础设施老旧，让别的国家致富而让自己的国家衰败。他保证改变这种做法，让美国重新富有，重新自豪，重新伟大。

川普呼吁美国人团结在爱国主义的大旗下。“无论肤色是黑、是棕还是白，我们的血管里都流淌着红色的爱国者的血。”

卡特、小布什和克林顿三任前总统及夫人出席了川普的就职仪式。目前在世的美国前总统中只有老布什因住院缺席。另外还有50多名民主党议员拒绝出席以示抗议。

正在进行全国巡访的加拿大总理杜鲁多没有出席川普就职典礼，只是发表了一份声明表示祝贺。他在声明中表示非常期待和川普政府合作。另外，他在和加拿大各地市长会面时，鼓励他们和美国城市发展关系。

Every four years, we gather on these steps to carry out the orderly and peaceful transfer of power, and we are grateful to President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for their gracious aid throughout this transition. They have been magnificent. Thank you.

Today’s ceremony, however, has very special meaning because today, we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to you, the people.

Politicians prospered, but the jobs left and the factories closed. The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories. Their triumphs have not been your triumphs. And while they celebrated in our nation’s capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land.

That all changes starting right here and right now because this moment is your moment, it belongs to you.

Everyone is listening to you now. You came by the tens of millions to become part of a historic movement, the likes of which the world has never seen before.

At the center of this movement is a crucial conviction, that a nation exists to serve its citizens.Americans want great schools for their children, safe neighborhoods for their families, and good jobs for themselves. These are just and reasonable demands of righteous people and a righteous public.

But for too many of our citizens, a different reality exists: mothers and children trapped in poverty in our inner cities; rusted out factories scattered like tombstones across the landscape of our nation; an education system flush with cash, but which leaves our young and beautiful students deprived of all knowledge; and the crime and the gangs and the drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential.

One by one, the factories shuttered and left our shores, with not even a thought about the millions and millions of American workers that were left behind. The wealth of our middle class has been ripped from their homes and then redistributed all across the world.

But that is the past. And now, we are looking only to the future.
